Using DSHM to Model Paper, Rock, Scissors
Dynamically Structured Holographic Memory (DSHM) is architecture for modeling memory. It was originally designed to account for long-term memory alone. However, the current model of Paper, Rock, Scissors (PRS) play (and Rock=2 PRS play) provides evidence that DSHM can be used to model tasks where the truth of facts change quickly and dynamically.
متن کاملVortices determine the dynamics of biodiversity in cyclical interactions with protection spillovers
If rock beats scissors and scissors beat paper, onemight assume that rock beats paper too. But this is not the case for intransitive relationships thatmake up the famous rock-paper-scissors game. However, the sole presence of papermight prevent rock frombeating scissors, simply because paper beats rock. This is the blueprint for the rock-paper-scissors gamewith protection spillovers, which has ...

Recall rock-paper-scissors (or roshambo). Two players simultaneously choose one of rock, paper, or scissors, with rock beating scissors, scissors beating paper, and paper beating rock. Here’s an idea: what if I made you go first? That’s obviously unfair — whatever you do, I can respond with the winning move. But what if I only forced you to commit to a probability distribution over rock, paper,...
متن کاملThe Multi-modal Rock-Paper-Scissors Game
The multi-modal rock-paper-scissors game is an interactive computer game where the opponent of the human player is a virtual agent appearing on the computer screen. The game is similar to the game between humans, the communication takes place by the tools of image and sound processing.
متن کاملNegative outcomes evoke cyclic irrational decisions in Rock, Paper, Scissors
Rock, Paper, Scissors (RPS) represents a unique gaming space in which the predictions of human rational decision-making can be compared with actual performance. Playing a computerized opponent adopting a mixed-strategy equilibrium, participants revealed a non-significant tendency to over-select Rock. Further violations of rational decision-making were observed using an inter-trial analysis wher...
